Victoria Cruises Refurbishing Victoria Empress

Victoria Cruises, which operates cruises on China's Yangtze River, will move forward with a winter refurbishment of its Victoria Empress. The ship is expected to resume sailing this March. The multimillion-dollar project will involve new decor, carpeting and bedding in 99 cabins; renovation of the Grand Lobby; a new dining room with seating for 198 passengers; and a la carte dining services on Deck 4. Victoria Empress was built in 1996 and rebuilt in 2002. In April 2009, the company will grow its fleet to eight ships with the debut of Victoria Jenna. Visit http://www.victoriacruises.com. (DE)
