This Week in Cruise: The Latest Marketing Materials, Incentives for Travel Agents

Looking to sell luxury or river cruises? This week in the cruise industry suppliers have been ramping up their support for travel agents.

Regent Seven Seas Cruises released a new collection of online marketing materials and educational courses for travel agents. The marketing materials include customizable, downloadable flyers, print ads, emails, web banners and social media posts that allow agents to add their name, contact info and call to action. The line has also launched a new Travel Partner Spotlight, which highlights a successful travel agent each quarter, as well as a quarterly video update showcasing all the new developments at the cruise line. Customized versions of the video are created for National Accounts, so they can post the content to their internal intranet sites for all agents within their consortium to view. Finally, the line now offers a bi-monthly travel agent newsletter called Luxe Agent

Through Regent Seven Seas University, the line is offering two interactive courses, with a third set to debut early next year. The first course, Regent Experience, offers and introduction to the Regent Seven Seas Cruises product offering. Selling Luxury focuses on how best to address a luxury customer. Agents who complete either course will receive two Continuing Education Unit (CEU) credits from The Travel Institute along with a $250 bonus commission for any new booking made within 90 days of completing the course.

The new agent tools are available at RSSC.com/agent.

In river cruise news, Tauck has released new river cruise sales materials and enhancements to its Agent Rewards travel incentive program

The sales materials are contained in a three-piece mailing, which is comprised of a River Cruising Sales Guide, an 11"x17" poster highlighting Tauck's river cruising product and exclusive-to-Tauck onshore experiences, and a printed comparison grid contrasting Tauck and its ships to other lines and their respective vessels.

The company has also enhanced its Agent Rewards incentive program, which allows agents to earn $200 in points for each client booked on a Tauck tour or cruise, up to $12,000 in points every year. Truck has automated much of the program and moved it online to the company’s Agent Connect web portal. Now, agents can go online to review their existing points balance, track their pending points from future bookings, and apply earned points to their own Tauck travels.

Those interested in more information can call Tauck at 1 800 468 2825 or email [email protected].

Finally, to celebrate Cruise Line International Association’s Plan A Cruise Month, MSC Cruises is offering travel agents $100 bonus commission per stateroom for new bookings in the MSC Yacht Club on MSC Divina. New bookings must be made between October 1 and October 31. To redeem, travel agents simply need to send an email to [email protected] with their booking number once the deposit has been made.
