Windstar Cruises Names John Delaney President

John Delaney, previously from Seabourn, has been named the president of Windstar Cruises. He will begin his duties on July 19.

Delaney, a cruise veteran, was formally the SVP of global marketing and sales for Seabourn Cruise Line. He was with Seabourn since 2011.

“We are very pleased to welcome John on-board. Cruise vacationers and our guests have every reason to expect a new era of exciting, wonderful and memorable vacation experiences on our yachts and in the ports Windstar visits,” said Andrew N. Todd, chief executive officer of Xanterra Parks & Resorts, parent company of Windstar Cruises.

In the past, Delaney also held several positions at Holland America, including the vice president of revenue marketing. Delaney also has resort experience; he spent six years at The Walt Disney Company, beginning as a financial analyst in food operations at The Disneyland Resort. There, he worked his way up through several positions including senior business planner for theme park operations revenue.

Delaney has a BS in business administration and accounting from California State University and resides in Seattle.
