The Honorable Richard Sealy, Minister of Tourism for the island nation of Barbados was in New York last night to help celebrate two very important announcements for the Barbados Tourism Authority; the launch of their new “Long Live Life” advertising campaign and Jet Blue’s new daily service from New York (starting today October 1st).

“We are excited about this partnership between Jet Blue and Barbados and the opportunities this new air service will have for our tourism industry and our country.” said Sealy.

Minister Sealy also noted that Barbados enjoys a high percentage of repeat visitors to the island and that when travelers were asked to list the top reasons for returning to Barbados, overwhelmingly it was the spirit and friendliness of the Bajan people that visitors mentioned kept them coming back.

Also on hand to participate and perform at the festivities last night was Barbados native and Universal/Motown recording artist Hal Linton.  The 24-year old R&B sensation expressed his love for his homeland and invited the audience to experience the warmth and music of Barbados first hand.
