Aeromexico Reports 11-Percent Increase in February

Aeromexico, one of the largest intercontinental airlines in Mexico, recently transported 1,097,000 thousand passengers in February, an 11-percent, year-on-year increase compared to 2011.

The numbers were a result of a a 15-percent increase in international passenger traffic and a 10-percent increase in domestic passenger traffic.

During the first two months of the year, the number of passengers reached 2,300,000, which is 11 percent more than in the same months in 2011, with a 19-percent increase in international passenger traffic and an 8-percent increase in domestic passenger traffic.

Aeromexico's capacity, measured in Available Seat Kilometers (ASK's), increased 7 percent year-on-year in February, and demand, measured in Revenue Passenger Kilometers (RPK's), grew 10 percent.

As a result, the load factor for the month increased 1.7 percentage points, to reach a total of 75.6 percent.

In the first two months of the year, ASKs increased 7 percent and the RPKs increased 11 percent. Therefore, the load factor increased 1.9 percentage points reaching 76.4 percent.
