Alaska Airlines inaugurates new twice-daily service between Seattle and Salt Lake City. The carrier is offering one-way fares between the two cities for as low as $109.
"These conveniently timed, daily nonstop flights between Salt Lake City and Seattle provide leisure travelers access to excellent outdoor recreational options as well as easy connections to destinations through Salt Lake City on our partner Delta Air Lines," said Andrew Harrison, Alaska Airlines' vice president of planning and revenue management.
To celebrate the new service, Alaska Airlines is also offering members of Alaska Airlines' Mileage Plan double miles for flights between now and May 31, 2013.
"This new service offers travelers additional routing possibilities and enhances customer service at Salt Lake City International Airport. We look forward to them growing their operation in this market," said Maureen Riley, Salt Lake City Department of Airports executive director.
The flights will be operated using Boeing 737 Next Generation aircraft. All flights will offer Alaska's Northern Bites meal service, which provides passengers in the main cabin with a hot meal for $6 or a cheese and fruit platter for $7. The flights also offer Alaska's inflight entertainment system, a handheld video-on-demand device featuring more than 70 movies, along with television shows and other entertainment. The inflight entertainment players are complimentary in first class and available for $10 in the main cabin.
The introductory fare requires a 14-day advance purchase and is available for travel on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Tickets must be purchased by April 15, 2013 and are good for travel between April 18, 2013, and June 15, 2013.
