ESTERILLOS ESTE, Costa Rica - As part of our recent coverage of the 20-villa, boutique resort, Alma del Pacifico Hotel & Spa, Travel Agent got the scoop on some enhancements the property plans on making soon.
Fernando Alfaro, part owner, sales director and general manager of the resort, told Travel Agent the property will be opening a small fitness center in the next month. It will be equipped with some treadmills and some light weights.
Alfaro, also told us the property will be opening a driving range across the street for clients who would like to drive some golf balls while enjoying some cocktails. The range will be open by April.
These are the latest modifications Alfaro, and the other members of the new ownership group, incorporated into the resort since taking over. It opened in 2007 and changed ownership in 2010. When it originally opened, it was a resort meant to disconnect, meaning no televisions and no Wi-Fi. Alfaro and his partners added flat screen televisions and free WiFi access to all the rooms when they took over the resort.
