Alohilani Resort at Waikiki Beach Set to Debut Fall 2017

Alohilani Resort at Waikiki Beach’s pool deck will feature a new saltwater infinity pool overlooking the shoreline

Pacific Beach Hotel is undergoing a $115 million redevelopment and will re-emerge in the fall of 2017 as an entirely new Waikiki Beach destination resort called Alohilani Resort at Waikiki Beach.

The new resort, commanding an oceanfront location overlooking Oahu’s Waikiki Beach, will be a modern and tranquil oasis in the heart of Waikiki that pays homage to Queen Lili‛uokalani and Hawaii’s rich cultural heritage. Located among oceanfront shops, eateries, activities and more, the hotel will remain open during the duration of the transformation. Guests can already experience the redesigned guest rooms and suites that have recently debuted in the Oceanarium Tower.

The redevelopment spans the hotel’s exterior facade, 839 guestrooms and suites, and public areas, including a 280,000-gallon lobby oceanarium. A pool deck with two new pools will be added alongside two new restaurants created exclusively for the hotel by internationally acclaimed chef Masaharu Morimoto.

The guestrooms and suites at Alohilani Resort at Waikiki Beach bring a blend of distinctive Hawaiian style and a modern beach house ambiance to the island of Oahu

With Waikiki Beach and Diamond Head views, the guestrooms and suites at Alohilani Resort at Waikiki Beach bring a blend of distinctive Hawaiian style and a modern beach house ambiance to the island of Oahu with design concepts inspired by Honolulu’s culture and the island’s scenic landscape.

The pool deck will feature a new saltwater infinity pool overlooking the shoreline; a pool bar and tiered day beds; custom teak furniture and driftwood sculptures; festoon lights and lanterns; glowing fire pits; and stepping stones leading to exclusive cabanas perched atop a reflecting pool. There will also be a separate kid’s pool and club.

The hotel’s saltwater oceanarium will undergo an extensive upgrade with the interior of the aquarium to feature new coral, designed to emulate the coral reef formations found in the waters of Waikiki Beach, and a replenishment system that filters directly from the ocean. Serving as a home to more than 1,000 protected marine life, the new oceanarium will include educational guest programming aimed to promote greater awareness and appreciation for the ocean.

Alohilani Resort at Waikiki Beach will feature two contemporary dining concepts conceived and helmed by Morimoto. Located on the second floor of the resort, Morimoto Asia will serve as the hotel’s signature restaurant featuring chef Morimoto’s world-renowned dishes, which integrate Western and traditional Asian ingredients.

For a more casual dining experience at street level, Momosan Waikiki will feature yakitori, ramen and a wide variety of small plates for lunch and dinner, along with a tropically landscaped beer garden.
