American Airlines Connects JFK with Tokyo's Haneda

It's been four months since the U.S. and Japan signed an Open Skies Agreement in October, and now American Airlines is announcing its non-stop service from New York's JFK to Tokyo's International Airport at Haneda. The inaugural flight kicks off February 18 from New York and February 20 from Haneda.

Travelers who need to get to Tokyo's city center will find Haneda to be the most convenient airport. Haneda is also Japan's main hub for domestic flights.

Japan Airlines will codeshare on American's flight, and also serves the New York to Tokyo market via Narita. The two airlines offer three daily round trip flights between NYC and Tokyo.

Bonus: AA will offer triple AAdvantage miles for First and Business Class travel and double AAdvantage miles for Economy class on this flight through May 31.
