AMResorts to Open New Secrets in Mexico, Expanded Spa in Dominican Republic

ST. PAUL, Minnesota – As part of the 40 destination classes being offered to agents at the 17th annual MLT University trade show, Travel Agent attended AMResorts' class, where Christie Gonzales of the company’s account management and development team shared some news with us.

AMResorts will be opening a new Secrets Resort in the little-known Mexico destination of Huatulco. Secrets Huatulco will consist of 399 rooms and such chic amenities as a glass restaurant overlooking a cliff. The property, which Gonzales describes as a “sleek, contemporary, state-of-the-art” resort will open in May.

In other AMResorts news, Gonzales told us the size of the spa at Secrets Sanctuary in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, will be more than doubled by December. Currently, there are four treatment rooms at the resort located within the Cap Cana development. That number will spike to 11 when the project is complete.

Keep visiting for more onsite coverage of MLT University as we will continue to bring you the latest news and notes throughout the duration of our stay, which concludes tomorrow morning.
