Anguilla Tourist Board Designates June as Health & Wellness Month

The Anguilla Tourist Board (ATB) is designating the entire month of June as Health & Wellness Month. During this time, both residents and visitors will be invited and encouraged to participate in the Move Ya Body Campaign.

Throughout the month of June, the activities of the Move Ya Body Campaign and the Anguilla Tourist Board will be fused together, featuring Anguillian services, packages and activities.

Employee Afternoon Walks on Tuesdays and Thursdays will be the foundation of workplace wellness programs. On Thursday, June 6, the “Colour Me Happy Walk” occurs, beginning in the West End. There will be music and cardio stops on and at the end of the route. Participants are encouraged to wear their happy colors with accessories like wigs, socks, shades and caps.

Additional activities in development include an Island Hike and Water Aerobics. The purpose of these activities is to get both Anguillians and visitors started on healthy lifestyle habits.

A Beach Yoga class on Saturday, June 22 will be available for all to attend. On the following Saturday, June 29, a Jam Fitness event will take place on the ATB Lawn. Anguilla’s fitness instructors will lead the classes accompanied by live music performed by artists from the island.

Resort and restaurant stakeholders will join in the campaign by offering cuisine, with special menus and drinks throughout the month of June. Several Health and Wellness Packages will also be offered by participating resorts, in collaboration with instructors, gyms and other health and wellness enthusiasts on the island and made available to visitors and residents.

In other Anguilla news, the Anguilla Tourist Board says February 2019 broke records regarding tourist or stay over visitor arrivals to the island. A total of 9,289 tourist arrived.
