Apple Vacations Announces Nonstop Charter to Costa Rica from Chicago

Apple Vacations announced new exclusive vacation flights to Costa Rica from Chicago's O'Hare Airport on USA3000 Airlines. Nonstop flights to Liberia depart Friday mornings with a Friday night return, operating January 14 - April 22, 2011.

"We see a great deal of potential for Costa Rica. There is definitely a buzz out there both with agents and consumers,"  Mark Noennig, vice president and general manager of Apple Vacations, told Travel Agent. "We have seen our numbers growing and see this as a great opportunity to deliver more options to this destination."

A seven-night fly/drive self-guided tour starts from $1299.99 per person, including roundtrip air, a four-wheel drive rental car, seven nights at a hotel and a variety of meals. This option allows vacationers to see the interior of Costa Rica— including waterfalls, volcanoes and monkeys.

For those who prefer to base themselves in the Guanacaste beach area, seven nights at the deluxe RIU Guanacaste starts from $1499.99, including roundtrip air, hotel transfers and all meals and drinks. Additional hotels featured include Occidental, Barcelo, Paradisus, Hilton and Marriott.

Apple Vacations is offering exclusive charter specials on day tours booked by September 30; the Arenal Volcano and Rain Forest Walk Charter Special is $112 per person, and the Buena Vista Mega Combo Charter Special, which includes a canopy tour, water slides, hot springs and a mud bath, is $116 per person. Additional tours can be booked online or in resort through Apple Vacations' representatives.

Apple Vacations is also offering three- and four-night escorted tours to the Arenal and Monteverde areas designed to be combined with a Guanacaste beach hotel stay at the end.

"In terms of who we are targeting, we think that Costa Rica has something to offer everyone -- families, couples, friends -- but especially vacationers looking for something other than a seven-night beach vacation," Noennig told us. "We want our customers to leave the hotel and really experience the amazing interior of Costa Rica, which is why we're offering the exclusive rates on the two excursions."
