Aqua Coconut Plaza Closes for Renovations

Aqua Hotels & Resorts announced that Aqua Coconut Plaza, located at 450 Lewers Street, has closed for renovations. On June 1, when the hotel reopens, it will be marketed as the Coconut Waikiki Hotel.

It will also be upgraded to the Aqua Boutique Collection, offering complimentary daily continental breakfast, local newspaper, local and toll-free calls.

Work at the 81-room hotel includes a total makeover and upgrade of the guest rooms and lobby. Amenities include mini-refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, 40-inch LCD HD TVs and WiFi. The lobby, breakfast area and front office will have new tile flooring and furniture.

"The decision to close the hotel for planned upgrades and refurbishments makes it possible to accelerate the pace of work and meet a June 1 reopening date," said Elizabeth Churchill, vice president of sales & marketing for Aqua Hotels & Resorts.  "All of our travel partners have been notified and bookings have been accommodated at other Aqua hotels in Waikiki."
