Avianca, Taca Airlines Transport 17 Million Passengers From January-October

During the first 10 months of the year, Avianca Arilines, Taca Airlines and their subsidiaries transported a total of 17,032,526 passengers on their network of national and international routes.

This marks an 18.9-percent increase on the number of passengers transported during the same period in 2010, when this figure stood at 14,329,629 passengers. The January-October occupancy rate was 77.3 percent.

In October, Avianca and Taca registered an increase of 17.2 percent on the number of passengers transported in the previous year, passing from 1,525,122 in October 2010 to 1,787,891 people in October 2011.

Between January and October, Avianca, Taca and their subsidiaries transported 9,204,952 passengers on routes within Colombia, Peru and Ecuador, registering an increase of 24.2 percent compared to the number of passengers transported in these markets in the same period of 2010, when the figure was 7,409,282 passengers.

During October alone, AviancaTaca Holding S.A. subsidiaries recorded an increase of 25 percent on the number of passengers transported in these domestic markets, registering a total of 1,016,916 passengers compared to 813,544 passengers transported in the same local markets in October 2010.

In the January-October 2011 period, Avianca, Taca and their subsidiaries flew 7,827,574 people on their international routes, 13.1 percent more than during the same period in the previous year when 6,920,347 passengers were transported to international destinations.

In October, Avianca, Taca and their subsidiaries transported 770,975 passengers on their international network, representing an increase of 8.3 percent compared to the same month in the previous year when they transported 711,578 passengers.
