Big Island's Botanical World Adventures Offers Segway Tours

Segway tours have become ubiquitous in cities around the world—an easy way to explore without getting too much exercise (which, of course, would defeat the entire purpose of a vacation).

While Segway tours are not often to be found on nature trails, Botanical World Adventures has introduced the Segway Personal Transporter, now offering the first Segway Authorized Tours on Hawaii Island. The new off-road adventure guides visitors through the rain forest and gardens on the Hamakua Coast, letting guests see more of the hundreds of acres of coastal rain forest, waterfalls and gardens.

A popular Big Island destination, Botanical World Adventures at the World Botanical Gardens takes guests through gardens and rain forests along the Hamakua coastline island. The Gardens and Waterfalls have been open to the public for more than 16 years. Botanical World has now added another exciting adventure with the introduction of off road trail tours on the Segway Personal Transporter, following their seven-line Zip Isle Zip Line Adventure - that opened almost two years ago.

Segway of Hawaii has been operating in Waikiki for close to seven years, offering specialty tours on the Segway Personal Transporter throughout Waikiki and downtown Honolulu, and also in Kailua on the island of Oahu for close to two years. This is the first expansion to a neighbor island.

The new Segway off road adventures at Botanical World Adventures are 30-minutes to three-hours in length with easy, moderate and challenging trails Tours are led by Segway certified guides, most of who have grown up in the area. Botanical World Segway Adventure Tours are priced from $57 to $147 per person and can also be combined with the Zip Isle Zip Line Adventure.
