Greater Fort Lauderdale moved forward with plans for the expansion of the Broward County Convention Center and on-site headquarters hotel recently with the qualification of five potential developers.
"The group of developers selected today insures the best possible project for Broward County. We can stop 'the lost business blues' and begin counting the one million gained room nights per year, once the project is completed," said Nicki E. Grossman, president of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau. "This forward thinking County Commission has begun taking the steps to success and a bright business future."
The Commission qualified Hensel Phelps, The Related Group, Omni Hotel Management Corp., Fort Lauderdale Convention Center Hotel LLC, and Matthews SW Holdings in the action.
