Capella Hotels & Resorts Reopens Austrian Chateau

Capella Hotels & Resorts will reopen Schloss Velden or "Chateau Velden," a historic lakeside hotel in southern Austria. The luxury hotel began operating in 1891 and closed its doors in 1989 to become a private residence. The owner, deciding to restore Schloss Velden as a hotel, selected Horst Schulze's Capella Hotels & Resorts to run the property. The hotel will keep the Schloss Velden name and will reopen summer 2007 with 109 suites and junior suites, two world-class restaurants and an ESPA-designed spa. A beach club and marina will be constructed next to the chateau.
