After a summer of renovation, the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas has unveiled its new Center Bar, sitting in the heart of the resort.

Twenty years ago, the Hard Rock introduced the concept of a central bar where guests could overlook the casino floor while drinking. The idea was replicated all over the city.

In June, the resort shuttered the bar to make way for a revamped lounge.

Now the renovated bar features a new lounge area, an expanded cocktail menu and panoramic views of the casino floor, “which represents the past, present and future of the property,” Jody Lake, chief operating officer at the resort, said in a statement.

The new design, featuring white spring granite and silver paneling, still is raised in the middle of the casino floor. A LED light fixture hangs above a glowing tower bottle display and creates a new focal point in Center Bar’s domed ceiling. The lights stream colors that match the music videos playing on the surrounding high-definition TVs.

A mix of banquettes, stone-top cocktail tables and couches circle the bar. Much of the furniture is swaddled in faux alligator textures and velvets in shades of purple and amber. The new lounge area’s ceiling has a series of polished, metal-trimmed, hexagonal-shaped coves with multicolor lights that dance to the music heard throughout the property.

The new cocktail menu features martinis, beer, wine and specialty drinks created by employees who worked at the original Center Bar in 1995.

Among the drinks to try: a Fu Fu Cachu, made with Malibu Rum, Captain Morgan Rum, pineapple juice and cranberry juice; B-Train to Georgia with Ciroc Peach, Cointreau, orange juice, cranberry juice and pineapple juice; and Fire on Ice with Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Fire, Baileys Irish Cream, White Crème de Cacao and butterscotch.
