Classic Vacations recently hosted its annual Caribbean Vendor Awards event at The Ritz-Carlton Golf & Spa Resort, Rose Hall, Jamaica in Montego Bay during the 2011 Caribbean Marketplace.
Recognition of hotel vendors was based on several awards criteria, including frequent and proactive communication, quick and efficient response to issues, co-op marketing support and creative promotional efforts, quality of product and service, removal of sales obstacles, and active support from all departments.
Here are some of the winners:
Rachel Mecca of the Starwood Resort Collection won 2010 Sales Advocate of the Year. Mecca took the honor for seizing “every opportunity to train our reservation staff and keep the Starwood Caribbean properties top of mind in our call center,” according to a Classic Vacations release. “She is proactive in removing sales barriers and resolving any issues that may arise. “
Peter Island Resort & Spa took the honor for 2010 Independent Hotel of the Year. “Peter Island Resort & Spa engaged in a true partnership with Classic Vacations last year and as a result had exceptionally strong revenue growth, outpacing the overall market,” according to the release.
The Regent Palms Turks & Caicos won the 2010 Partner of the Year while Sandals & Beaches Resorts locked up the 2010 Marketing Partner of the Year.
Kerzner International won the Hotel Chain of the Year and the Barbados Tourism Board took the honor for Destination Partner of the Year.
