Design Hotels is introducing Grupo Habita's Hotel Escondido, which opens December 1, 2013. The 16 beach bungalows are located on the Mexican coastline between the Pacific Ocean and the Sierra del Madre Sur mountain range just north of Puerto Escondido.

The nearby Zicatela Beach hosts major surfing competitions for both beginners and professionals. Guests can also go fishing, bird watching, boating and kayaking. The hotel has a bar and underground nightclub for dancing and cocktails.

Puerto Escondido is a small port and tourist center in the municipality of San Pedro Mextepec Distrito 22, in the Mexican state of Oaxaca. Puerto Escondido International Airport is about 12 miles from the resort.
