Developer Revives Kauai Lagoons Resort

Kauai Lagoons LLC is breathing new life into the 520-acre Kauai Lagoons project in Lihue with plans for a master-planned resort with a destination spa, dining and about 750 residences, some of which are likely to be bookable by retailers for their clients. The parcel currently is anchored by two championship golf courses, Kiele and Mokihana, and plans call for adjustment to six holes of the course. Also in place is a 38-acre navigable freshwater lagoon. The acreage adjoins the Kauai Marriott Resort & Beach Club, which was an initial element of the original Kauai Lagoons development back in the late 1980s.
