Drinks Report: One of Mexico’s Best Resorts Has a New Tasty Beverage

Millennials with a taste for adult beverages who are looking for something a little more out-of-the box than a mojito or margarita will be pleased to learn that the Grand Velas Riviera Maya is rolling out a new cocktail.

Grand Velas Riviera Maya treats guests to a taste of the Yucatan’s past with its new Grand Velas Cocktail showcasing local Mayan flare. The cocktail features Xtabentun, a Mayan liqueur with honey infused from the native Xtabentun flower.

The Xtabentun flower and liqueur are common elements in a variety of Mayan legends that have been passed down generation after generation. Guests staying at the AAA Five Diamond resort are able to sip on the Grand Velas cocktail at the resort’s rooftop Sky Bar while enjoying radiant sunsets and views of the Caribbean waters. The Ingredients also include cubs of pineapple, an orange slice, club soda and lime juice.
