Dubai World, which is owned by the government of Dubai, recently announced a partnership with One&Only Resorts in the development and management of its new $150 million luxury resort in Zanzibar, scheduled to open in 2009. One&Only Zanzibar will be a 150-room luxury hotel and a 50-room residence, with a spa retreat on a 187-acre site at Muyuni Beach in Zanzibar. Muyuni Beach is in a part of Zanzibar that overlooks an atoll of coral reefs, a large diving spot. The resort is a 45-minute drive to Stone Town, the island's World Heritage Site, and a 15-minute flight from Dar Es Salam, as well as within easy flight access from Dubai and Nairobi.
