Hotel Nikko Düsseldorf has opened up a new hotel wing with 43 new rooms (guest room shown here) and more than 3,200 square feet of additional convention space.

The property, which labels itself as four-star, is located a few minutes away from Central Station and the famous Königsallée shopping street. It’s also close to the old quarter of Düsseldorf, the Rhine River promenade and the banking district. The hotel now has a total of 344 rooms and more than 15,000 square feet of meeting space. Last week we noted that Capella Hotels and Resorts will debut its new Breidenbacher Hof in Düsseldorf on May 19. The hotel, which originally opened in 1812, has undergone several incarnations (including reconstruction following its demolition in World War II). Its owners, Pearl of Kuwait Real Estate, began construction in 2006 on an entirely new Breidenbacher Hof on the hotel’s original site, which is located on the famous Königsallée.

The new nine-story building will have 95 guest rooms, including 16 suites, a restaurant, a boutique spa with pool and fitness center, such high-end retailers as Escada and Hugo Boss, and 18 serviced residential apartments.
