El Conquistador Resort, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel, announced the appointment of Puerto Rico native Evy Garcia as the new director of sales.
Garcia, a seasoned hospitality industry veteran with more than 25 years of experience, will be responsible for managing the sales department, maximizing revenue, business development, community involvement and will lead the execution of strategic sales plans and initiatives for El Conquistador Resort, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel, and its sister property, Las Casitas Resort, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel in conjunction with Robert Filipelli, the managing director of sales and marketing.
Garcia most recently served as director of sales and marketing for Gran Meliá Golf Resort Puerto Rico, where she implemented a new sales structure and the repositioning of the resort. Garcia previously headed sales for Fairmont Mayakoba in Mexico, InterContinental Resorts in Puerto Rico as well as marketing for Tishman Hotels in Puerto Rico.
Furthermore, Garcia served as vice president of corporate marketing for Pan-American Life Insurance based in New Orleans.
