Elaine Wynn Will Remain a Player at Wynn Resorts LTD

Last week we reported that Steve Wynn, chief executive of the Las Vegas-based casino company Wynn Resorts LTD and his wife Elaine, who sat on the company’s board and oversaw many of the interior design details, were headed for divorce court. Now we hear that not only will Elaine stay on board Wynn Resorts LTD, when the dust settles from the divorce she’ll likely have an expanded and more defined role in the company. Elaine has been nominated for reelection to another three-year term on the Wynn Resorts board. The company’s annual shareholders meeting will be held May 5. All of this reportedly comes with Steve’s blessing. The divorce complaint notes that Steve wants to “amicably and fairly resolve” the marriage. Forbes magazine estimates Steve Wynn’s current net worth at $1.5 billion. Under Nevada law, the value of community property in divorce cases must be split in half.
