Ensemble Travel Group Launches Destination Weddings and Honeymoons Specialist Program

The big bucks in the industry are in destination weddings and honeymoons, a reported $28 billion per year niche, and Ensemble Travel Group is looking to help its agents grab a piece of the pie.

At the organization's 2011 conference held at The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas, Ensemble Travel Group announced the launch of its new specialist program in the United States.

"We launched a destination wedding and honeymoon program in Canada in 2009," said Lindsay Pearlman, co-president of Ensemble Travel Group, in a press conference held yesterday, October 20. "It goes back to acquiring new customers. We developed this specialist program because we saw that during the recession people were still getting married. In a way, the wedding business is recession proof."

About 40 agencies will make up the first class of specialists. In order to become a specialist, Ensemble agents must complete certification through the Travel Institute program. The specialist program will be comprised of a complete Destination Weddings & Honeymoons website framed as part of the agency's consumer-facing client site; a lead-generation Destination Weddings & Honeymoons website, entitled "Destination Vows," featuring destination and honeymoon content, tips and trends for the occasion, and a specialist-only agency locator; print collateral, including an Ensemble Destination Weddings & Honeymoons magazine; and much more.
