Fall Cycling With Italiaoutdoors' Fall Veneto Packages

Italiaoutdoors is introducing a different way to discover Northern Italy this fall–specifically on two wheels–with two itineraries that center on cycling through Veneto’s wine-producing region.

An eight-day “Bike the Wine Roads of the Veneto” tour is scheduled from September 25-October 1, 2011 and from October 16-22, 2011. Each package offers cyclists an in-depth exploration of the cuisine, culture, and wines of Veneto, beginning in Verona and Lake Garda, and ending in Treviso and the province of Venice.

Participants will enjoy a selection of wines chosen by Italiaoutdoors' founder, chef Kathy Bechtel. Bechtel and Vernon McClure, co-owner and a recreation specialist, will lead these small group tours.

Biking routes will explore both back roads and cities in the area, ranging from 30 to 45 miles per day.

Pricing for the tour starts at $3,100 per person, based on double occupancy. Amenities include all breakfasts, lunches and snacks, and all but one dinner. A single supplement of $600 is available.

For cyclists who enjoy love cooking, a fourth offering of the “Chefs on Bike” tour will bring wheeling gourmets also to Veneto from September 11-17, 2011.

The tour combines a week of biking with cooking instruction and is priced at $4,500 per person, double occupancy.
