Four Seasons Looks to Expand to Three More Caribbean Islands

During a media luncheon hosted by the Four Seasons Nevis Wednesday, Travel Agent learned of the company’s preliminary plans to expand its Caribbean presence with three islands on Four Seasons' radar.

Four Seasons Nevis General Manager and Regional Vice President Andrew Humphries told Travel Agent Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts is eyeing Barbados, Puerto Rico and The Bahamas to strengthen its presence in the region, as the Four Seasons Nevis is currently the luxury powerhouse’s only Caribbean property.

The Letter of Intent (LOI) has yet to be signed for the Puerto Rico property, which would be located on the Eastern tip of the destination, so Humphries is predicting the resort would be completed in no less than five to six years from now.

An LOI, however, has be resigned in Barbados after original plans for a property there stalled after the economic downfall. The resort, however, is still not expected to be completed until at least 2016, Humphries says.

The Bahamas property would be built on the luxury Out Island of Eluethra and should be ready by 2013, Humphries says.
