Four Seasons to Resume Construction in Barbados

Travel Agent recently sat down with Campbell Rudder, the newly appointed vice president of marketing for the Barbados Tourism Authority and learned that developers are resuming construction of a new 110-room Four Seasons hotel.

The project, Rudder says, was stalled in 2009 because of some financial snags but resumed a few weeks ago.

“We are all just so relieved that the construction has started again and we are really excited to get this brand on the island because we expect it to increase our American arrivals,” he told Travel Agent.

According to a Wall Street Journal report, new financing for the project in Barbados has been arranged and backed by the local government. The mixed-use luxury development is slated to include 35 condominium residences as well.
