Future Dreams: Update on Resort Company's Plans

Since our detailed story on Dream Resorts’ plans ran in the November issue of Home-Based Travel Agent magazine, there have been a few developments to report.

For one, Dreams has dropped “Litibu” from the resorts it originally named Dreams Litibu Punta de Mita and Secrets Litibu Punta de Mita. They are now just called Dreams Punta de Mita Resort & Spa and Secrets Punta de Mita Resort & Spa. Another recent announcement was that Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun will open next May instead of March.

Dreams is opening the following properties in addition to previously announced ones:

Dreams Punta Cana Resort & Spa will debut in December following a multimillion-dollar enhancement to the former Sunscape the Beach Punta Cana. The resort will feature 620 guest rooms and suites, new gourmet restaurants, upgraded amenities for Preferred Club guests and meeting space.

Dreams Nuevo Vallarta Resort & Spa is set to open in the middle of 2008. Located on famed Banderas Bay, this 224-room luxury resort will be near golf courses, a dolphin facility and a turtle reserve.

Dreams Huatulco Resort & Spa is set to open late next year. The first Dreams-brand resort to open in Mexico’s state of Oaxaca, this 440-room oceanfront property is situated in an unspoiled area where the foothills of the Sierra Madre and the Pacific Ocean magnificently blend.

Dreams Vallarta Bay Resort & Spa will open in early 2010. Located along the beaches of Vallarta Bay in Puerto Vallarta, it will have 340 rooms and suites along with the Unlimited-Luxury amenities and service that are a standard of the Dreams brand.
