Global Tourism Leaders to Convene in Dubai

Dubai will host the Global Travel & Tourism Summit, taking place April 20-22, 2008, according to the World Travel & Tourism Council. At the launch, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed al Maktoum, president of the Dubai Department of Civil Aviation and chairman and CEO of Emirates Airlines, and Geoffrey Kent, chairman of WTTC and chairman and CEO of Abercrombie & Kent, signed a partnership to guide the development of the summit, along with the Dubai government, the WTTC and the Jumeirah and Nakheel companies. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed welcomed the WTTC and its members to Dubai and expressed his vision for working together with international travel and tourism leaders to host the conference, which, he said, would be a forum to shape the future of the global industry.
