Grand Wailea Resort Hotel & Spa Announces New Director of Sales and Marketing

Brian Lynx has been tapped as the new director of sales and marketing of the Grand Wailea Resort Hotel & Spa, a Waldorf=Astoria Collection hotel on Maui. Lynx has more than 21 years of experience in the hospitality industry. He began his hospitality career in 1985 with Granada in the UK as a management trainee at various properties in England and Scotland.

In 1988, Lynx came to the U.S. and worked as purser for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. Three years later he became a front office manager at the Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. On moving to Hawaii, Lynx worked at such hotels as Kea Lani, Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and the Westin Maui as director of sales and marketing. Lynx also oversaw, as area director, the six Starwood properties in Tahiti, Moorea and Bora Bora, including the opening of the St. Regis Bora Bora. In a career that brings Lynx full circle and back to the Grand Wailea, he is returning to the property as director of sales and marketing, where he served as a sales manager in 1994.
