Great Whale Count, February 23, Maui

This one-day free event on Maui gives visitors a chance to join in the annual citizens’ count of the humpback whales that can be seen along Maui’s south and western shores. Counters will work at stations with a group of approximately 10 people, including a representative from Pacific Whale Foundation. The foundation provides all training and tools for volunteers, and no experience is necessary. Sign up in advance by calling 800-942-5311 or emailing [email protected].
