Grenada Resort LaSource Officially Closes Doors

LaSource, a popular luxury resort in Grenada, officially closed its doors this Monday due to lingering financial woes.

Steve Heydt, president of Elite Island Resorts, which handled marketing and public relations services for the resort, recently issued a statement regarding the closing of the property.

"We are saddened and disappointed that the owners of the resort were not able or willing to do more to keep LaSource open," Heydt said in the written statement. "Unfortunately, Elite does not own or manage LaSource, and we are at the whim of the resort’s ownership, along with tour operators and guests who may be negatively affected."

The 100-room resort on Pink Gin Beach reopened in February of 2008 after drawn out renovations and improvements to repair massive structural damage caused by Hurricane Ivan in 2004.
