Guoman Hotels has appointed Riddian Davies as general manager of Charing Cross Hotel, one of three central London hotels comprising the Guoman Hotels' portfolio.

Davies will be overseeing the hotel’s extensive bedroom refurbishment plans, which are scheduled for early 2009. He will also be responsible for the day-to-day operations and commercial activities for Charing Cross and will report directly to Sanjay Nijhawan, chief operating officer, Guoman Hotels.

Previously, Davies was instrumental in overseeing the development of Guoman Hotels expansion into Asia, overseeing three sites as area general manager based at Kuala Lumpur. He also successfully launched the Golf Terrace Resort in Fiji under the Guoman Hotels brand and had operational input into two of the new Guoman Hotels' sites in Beijing and Shanghai.

This news comes several months after Guoman's announcement of expansion plans in both London and Asia.
