Half Moon’s Director of Sales and Marketing Recognized for Contribution to Tourism

Myrtle Dwyer, director of sales and marketing and a senior executive at Half Moon, the luxury resort in Rose Hall, Jamaica, was honored for her contribution to tourism by the Lay Magistrates Association of Jamaica, St. James Chapter.

Having served as a lay magistrate for the parish of St. James for more than 20 years, Dwyer was singled out for her significant work in tourism, which spans more than 30 years.

Dwyer, who joined Half Moon in 1977, served in several management capacities. Under her leadership she has helped to position Half Moon as an internationally recognized brand, developing various business segments including groups and incentives, destination weddings, special events, internet marketing as well as customer relationship marketing.

In 1987, Dwyer co-founded Glamour Destination Management, a destination management company that plans events, meetings, group tours, reunions, weddings and transportation in the Caribbean.


In 2007, Dwyer was recognized by King Juan Carlos I of Spain, receiving the Order of Civil Merit for her contribution to the Spanish community having served as the Honorary Consul of Spain in Montego Bay for over 10 years.
