The Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau Promotes Obama’s Hawaii Childhood

The Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau has created a special microsite (www.gohawaii.com/about_hawaii/explore/obama) that highlights some of the significant places that relate to President-elect Barack Obama’s earlier days in Hawaii and where he vacationed in August 2008. It cites such sites as the Kapiolani Hospital for Women and Children, where he was born; the Paunahou School, which he attended from fifth grade through high school graduation; to the Baskin Robbins Ice Cream shop on South King Street, where held one of his first jobs; and some of his favorite places to hang out with family and friends, such as Puu Ualakaa State Park.
