Hawaiian Number One for U.S. Airlines in Punctuality

Hawaiian Airlines recorded the best results in August among the nation’s airlines for punctuality, fewest flight cancellations, and fewest mishandled baggage reports, as reported today in the Air Travel Consumer Report issued by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT).

Hawaiian ranked #1 nationally in all three categories led by its performance as the nation’s best on-time airline in August, with 95.6 percent of its flights arriving on schedule.

Hawaiian also earned the industry’s top ranking for fewest cancelled flights during the month with only four cancellations out of 6,349 total flights, or less than 0.1 percent, and the lowest rate of mishandled bags with 1.61 mishandled baggage reports for every 1,000 passengers served.

The DOT report covers 18 airlines, including eight carriers providing service to Hawaii, and is available online at http://airconsumer.ost.dot.gov/reports/atcr10.htm.
