The Hilton Ft. Lauderdale Beach Resort

Travel Agent recently stayed at the the Hilton Ft. Lauderdale Beach Resort, which opened this past January, and was impressed by the 25-story, all-suite luxury property. which surpasses traditional expectations for the Hilton brand. Along the city's quickly developing North Beach, the resort has 333 studios, one-, two- and three-bedroom suites and 10,000 square feet of meeting space, as well as the 25,000-square-foot Sunrise Terrace—the centerpiece of the property—with a pool and two hot tubs overlooking the ocean. Amenities include children's programs, beach concierges, private car transfer service, remote check-in, personalized shopping, wireless waiters and a paperless valet. A One-Bedroom Oceanview Suite at the new Hilton Ft. Lauderdale Beach Resort

We stayed in one of the One-Bedroom Oceanfront Suites, which we highly recommend. They feature Hilton Serenity Collection amenities (including the Crabtree & Evelyn La Source line of bath amenities), bathrooms with separate showers and European soaking tubs with whirlpool jets, high-definition flat-screen TVs and private oceanview balconies with glass railings overlooking the beach. All offer fully equipped kitchenettes with European custom cabinetry, granite countertops and stainless steel appliances and are stocked with cutlery, glassware, cookware, Lavazza coffee from Italy and a Cuisinart dual-cup, single-brew coffeemaker.

Large Suites and Connecting Rooms for Families

The most requested premium accommodations are the –17 and –18 series suites. For groups and large families, recommend two- or three-bedroom suites; in addition, one-third of the property's units are connecting rooms. Nanny services are available upon request. All units can be booked over the GDS.

The Hilton Ft. Lauderdale Beach Resort

The Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort is home to the Spa Q, a 7,000-square-foot full-service European spa center. Treatments can be enjoyed at the spa or in-suite. Spa services include facials, Swedish, deep-tissue and hot-stone massages, body scrubs and wraps, manicures and pedicures.

The on-site restaurant, ilios, offers dining indoors and outdoors on the terrace. Recommend the Crab-crusted Black Grouper, the Lobster Minestrone and the Grilled Calamari Stuffed with Shrimp and Olives. A new, more upscale restaurant (unnamed as of yet) will focus on seafood entrees and is slated to open by November.

As for shopping near the hotel, Las Olas Blvd. is lined with excellent stores, including Joe Picasso's for the kids. The Galleria Shops mall is also popular; one high-end retailer is

Saks Fifth Avenue
.
