Hotel Brussels Gets New General Manager

Big news from Brussels: Jan Joris has been appointed General Manager of The Hotel Brussels on Waterloolaan, which was acquired last year by the Swedish real estate group, Pandox AB and which is currently undergoing an extensive renovation.

Joris (pictured right with Aldert Schaaphok, Vice President Pandox AB) was born and raised in Belgium and has extensive experience in Belgium's hotel industry and abroad. He started out in the business in 1988 and went on to hold several positions in Belgium in the Alfa Hotel group. The subsequent acquisition of this group by NH Hoteles provided new career opportunities for Joris, who was in charge of the opening of two NH Hotels in Brussels and Frankfurt and was then made responsible for eight NH Hotels in Flanders.

From 2003 onwards he successively held various positions for NH Hoteles Group in The Netherlands and France, including General Manager, Pre-opening Manager and Regional Manager. In 2011 he joined the Russian Azimut hotel group, with 22 hotels in Russia, Germany and Austria, where he was appointed Director of Operations.
