Indonesia Accelerating Tsunami-Warning System

Associated Press is reporting that Indonesia's president has vowed to have a nationwide tsunami-warning system in place by mid-2008, months ahead of the previous 2009 completion date. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono pledged to work with parliament on the budget. Work on the system began following the devastating December 2004 tsunami, with monitoring buoys off the island of Sumatra.
