Island Air will commemorate the return of inter-island air service to Kauai with a blessing of its new check-in counter and celebration of its inaugural Honolulu-Lihue flights on March 15.

Island Air will restore service to the island of Kauai with six daily round-trip flights between Honolulu (HNL) and Lihue (LIH), with connections to Kahului, effective March 15.

In addition to increasing seat capacity to Kauai, Island Air has hired 27 employees on Kauai and Oahu to service the LIH-HNL route. Passengers flying on all Island Air’s flights on March 15 will be served complimentary cookies from Kauai Kookie.

Island Air offers 224 flights each week between Oahu, Maui, Lanai and Kauai.

Island Air’s 64-seat ATR-72 aircraft are able to provide upclose views of Hawaii’s landscapes. Founded in 1980 as Princeville Airways, the company was renamed Island Air in 1992 and has been serving the islands of Hawaii for 35 years.
