Donnie Dawson, the Jamaica Tourist Board’s deputy director of sales, told Travel Agent Wednesday that nearly 1,300 agents have already signed up for the a series of fam trips to Jamaica just about three weeks after the program was announced.
There will be a cut off of 2,000 agents, so sign up quick for the program. The 2,000-agent fly-in, which will take place in the fall, will be the culmination of the JTB’s ongoing Wish You Were Here Education Series.
Agents will be flown to the island to experience and learn first-hand about the new product offerings found in the various resort areas. The fly-ins are part of a campaign to maintain awareness and bookings to Jamaica during the fall and winter seasons. The agent program will take place September 10-13, September 17-20, September 24-27 and October 1-4. Interested agents should contact the Jamaica Tourist Board.
