JNTO's LA Office Appoints Daisuke Tonai as New Director

The Japan National Tourism Organization's Los Angeles office has welcomed Daisuke Tonai as its new Executive Director. Tonai replaces Hidenao Takizawa who has returned to Japan to work for the organization's headquarters.

Tonai previously served as a Director in the LA office from 2001 to 2005. He has been with the JNTO for the last 18 years and has been a part of numerous projects for almost every division of the organization.

His new tenure in LA will focus on addressing the challenges facing Japan after the March 11 earthquake and tsunami.

"This most important task is to make sure travelers have access to accurate, up-to-date information about where travel is safe, so that they can feel at ease," Tonai said in a statement.
