Jamaica's Minister of Tourism Edmund Bartlett has announced the appointment of John Lynch as chairman of the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB). A 30-year veteran of tourism, Lynch has been a steady force for many of the Caribbean's most visible travel brands, including the country of Jamaica, where he has served over the last four years on the marketing subcommittee of the JTB's board of directors. He has also played key roles at Air Jamaica, Sandals Resorts, Beaches Resorts and the recently introduced Royal Plantation group of luxury boutique resorts. John Lynch is currently executive vice president of Unique Vacations, with overall responsibility for public relations, sales promotions and group sales for all Sandals Resorts brands worldwide. He serves the wider regional industry as third vice president of the Caribbean Hotel Association (CHA), chairing its marketing committee.
