JW Marriott Los Cabos Beach Resort & Spa has officially opened its doors. This new five-star resort, designed by Jim Olson from Olson Kundig and in collaboration with IDEA Avocados, has 299 guestrooms and suites. The feel of the resort captures a Mexican vibe and plays off the desert.
"As you move through the space, there are always moments where your eye can focus on the outdoors,” Olson said. “The architecture is designed to frame nature.”
The resort is in the upscale Puerto Los Cabos community along the Baja Peninsula. The lobby is open-air and there are six pools, including infinity and salt water. There is a 21,000-square-foot Jasha Spa with a modern-day temazcal, a Mexican sweat lodge. Guests can choose between seven restaurants and bars, including the signature Cafe des Artistes.
For guests looking for exclusivity there is also the Griffin Club, a 45-room boutique hotel with a private beach and pool. There are also special services like butlers, chef services, private spa area, a movie theatre and access to the chef’s private table at Cafe des Artistes.
And, for weddings and meetings, there is plenty on space — 37,000 square feet of it.
