Karisma Looks to Expand Further in the Caribbean; New Jamaica Property Set to Open December 20

jamaicaAs Karisma Hotels & Resorts prepares for the December 20 soft opening of its first-ever Caribbean property, Azul Sensatori Jamaica, Mandy Chomat, the company’s vice president of sales and marketing, already has his eye on Karisma’s next Caribbean resort.

Travel Agent sat down with Chomat, who was both excited about the soft opening in Jamaica and anxious about opening more Karisma properties in the Caribbean.

“We are going to continue to look at the Caribbean and other islands,” says Chomat. “Our product has been very widely accepted with the Gourmet Inclusive concept, which is unique in the market.”

The Jamaica resort marks Karisma Hotels & Resorts', a premier collection of 11 Gourmet Inclusive properties in Mexico that are comprised of El Dorado Spa Resorts & Hotels, El Dorado Generations and Azul Hotels and Villas by Karisma, first expansion beyond the Riviera Maya.

“The primary markets are the markets that everyone is in by now so that would mean expanding in Jamaica as soon as possible, the Dominican Republic is a hot market and other parts of Mexico would be important for our growth," he says, "and then you look at other islands that are out there in the Caribbean that have lift from all over the world that make the product feasibly to maintain.”

In 2012, Karisma Hotels & Resorts acquired majority and controlling interest in the former Sandy Bay Beach Resort in Negril. A multi-million dollar, multi-phase is slated for the new property. Like all Karisma properties, there will be a customized five-star Gourmet Inclusive vacation experience focused on the best in food and service.
