Killington Resort in Vermont to Host FIS Ski World Cup

For the first time in 25 years, World Cup skiing will be visiting the East Coast when Killington Resort hosts Women’s Slalom and Giant Slalom Thanksgiving weekend.

Saturday, November 26, will host Women’s Slalom and, Sunday, November 27, will host Women’s Giant Slalom. The first run will be at 9:30 a.m. and the second run will be 12:30 p.m. each day on the Superstar trail. An event expo will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. both days. 

Killington has set aside space for a free general admission area at the base of the trail where race fans and skiers can watch the races. Fans can expect Lindsey Vonn, Julia Mancuso, and Mikaela Shiffrinof the U.S. Ski Team to participate. 

Killington Resort has seven mountain peaks, the highest being Killington Peak at 4,241 feet – the second highest summit in both the Green Mountains and Vermont. Killington Resort offers 155 trails and their lift network includes two high-speed express gondolas, five high-speed express quads, and fifteen additional lifts. Killington has the largest vertical drop in New England at 3,050 feet.
