Langham Hotels International plans to expand into the Caribbean and North America following the signing of a management agreement with P.S.G Hotel Limited.
At 224-rooms, Langham’s first resort in the Caribbean will be located in Port St. George. Named the Langham Place, Resort + Spa, Port George, its parent company boasts that
the new resort will eventually form the central focus of the island’s economic growth when it opens in 2013. Ambitious as that sounds, Langham asserts that this is just one step in its ongoing plan to triple the number of properties in its portfolio within the next three years.
“Introducing the Langham Place brand to the Bahamas represents a great opportunity for us to create something unique,” said Ian Moorcroft, Director of P.S.G. Hotel Limited.
Situated along the waterfront, the Langham Place, Resort + Spa will be a part of a 1,000-acre development that includes a 640-berth marina, golf course, and mixed use commercial space. Among the facilities, the resort will feature a spa utilizing Traditional Chinese Medicine in its treatments, a non-denominational wedding chapel, and meeting and banquet facilities.
